We're the new kids on the block. We've only been here a few
months but during that short time frame we have been able to meet quite a
few residents. Feel free to stop in to meet us anytime and if you have
any questions about your property, we will do our best to answer them.
The entire Township of Pentwater is currently being re-appraised.
The records for the parcels are in need of updating and that means that you
will be seeing us out in the "field" measuring dwellings and asking
questions. If you are not home when we visit your property, we will
leave a bright, pink door hanger informing you that we have been there.
There isn't anything that you need to do. It is just letting you know
that we were there measuring the buildings, decks, etc.
During the year the Board of Review meets three times.
The first time is in March and it is for the current year only. At
this board meeting the public can present their case if they feel that their
property is not being valued correctly. Bur, of course, before you go
to the Board of Review please contact the assessor to see if the issue can
be resolved.
The second and third meetings for the Board of Review is held in July and
December. These meetings are for clerical errors and mutual mistakes
of fact along with Principal Residence Exemptions.
The 2007 schedule for the Board of Review meetings are:
March 12-14 2007
July 17, 2007
December 11, 2007
We now have a computer that the public is welcomed to use. You can
look up parcels and retrieve information regarding values, legal
descriptions, sale information, etc. Come in and check out your
property. See if what we have on record is correct. We would
appreciate any help we can get in that area. Our office hours are
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 3 pm and we can be reached at
231-869-6231. |
